The retrospective of 布里吉特-科万兹 at the ALBERTINA explores the central question, What is light? to which the artist answers, Light is what you see – a statement that addresses the paradox of light, which makes the world visible yet remains invisible itself. In the exhibition, light is presented as a fleeting, immaterial phenomenon, with mirrored rooms and ultraviolet light creating infinite reflections. Featured are significant works from Kowanz’s career since the 1980s, including the iconic pieces Morsealphabet 和 Email 02.08.1984 03.08.1984. The exhibition is on view from July 18 to November 9, 2025.
